Formed in August,
2001, Orthopedic Massage
Associates is a collaboration between Judy Castrichini, LMT #724 and Jeffrey
Rich, LMT #656. We both
received our massage therapy training from the prestigious Healing Arts School
of Massage, completing the school's rigorous 650-hour state licensure program
and receiving our Alabama Massage Therapy licenses in May 1999. |
Before forming Orthopedic
Massage Associates,
we left our full-time careers in marketing and software
development in 1999 to open our individual private massage therapy
practices. Between the Fall of 1999 and the Spring of 2001, we were
student instructors at the Healing Arts School of Massage, assisting in the
teaching of Anatomy and Kinesiology (the study of movement in the body), as well as the Theory and Practice of
Massage. We also conceived and directed the school's aggressive massage
therapy Continuing Education program, hosting several well-attended massage
therapy continuing education seminars.
Our core massage therapy training includes Swedish
Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Neuromuscular Therapy,
Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Hydrotherapy,
Muscle Energy Techniques, SOAP Charting, and introductions to
Myofascial Release and Strain/Counterstrain techniques.
We each employ the discipline and principles of Orthopedic
Massage, the assessment and treatment of
soft-tissue injuries, in our practices.
